Itinerary

Touring: Ljubljana - Postojna caves - Nova Gorica - Kranjska Gora - Bled - Zagreb - Plitvice - Split - Korčula - Dubrovnik - Montenegro - Dubrovnik

Day 1: arrival to Ljubljana airport
You will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Ljubljana. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Ljubljana. (D,O)

Day 2: Ljubljana – Postojna caves – Predjama castle – Nova Gorica
Breakfast. This day you will be taken through Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital city, his open air market, City Hall, the Three Bridges and the Parliament. After lunch at a local restaurant, we take you to the biggest and world-wide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves, and to the most interesting baroque castles in Slovenia, the Predjama castle, hanging dramatically in the middle of a 123 m high rocky cliff. Continue to the centre of this region, the small town of Nova Gorica, built after the WWII, today known as the Las Vegas of Slovenia. Gamble your night away at Casino HIT GORICA . Optional tour: wine tasting at Goriška Brda, Slovenia’s most famous wine growing region. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Nova Gorica. (B,L,D,O)

Day 3: Nova Gorica – Kobarid - Vršič Pass - Kranjska Gora
After breakfast, drive through the wonderful valley of the Soča river to the city of Kobarid, where you will visit the stunning museum of First World War. After enjoying a meal in one of the great local restaurants, your journey takes you over the mountain pass of Vršič, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the valley, to the small and picturesque alpine resort of Kranjska Gora. Day 4: Kranjska Gora – Bohinj - Bled
Breakfast. Today, we invite you to Bled, the pearl of the Alpine region with its magnificent lake. After a bus ride around the lake a guided tour of Bled castle will start. Then you will be taken by Bled's typical "pletna" boat to the island. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit the largest glacier lake in Slovenia situated in the region of the Julian Alps mountain range, with the highest Slovene peak (Mt.Triglav) rising above it. Take a 15 minutes walk to the source of the Sava Bohinjka river and afterwards relax at the side of the peaceful lake of Bohinj. For dinner, we take you to a local restaurant, while enjoying typical Slovenian music. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Bled. (B,L,D,O)

Day 5: Bled - Zagreb
After breakfast, continue to Škofja Loka, and follow its narrow streets from the 15th ct. Jacob's parish church, to the old Town Hall from the 16th ct. and other medieval buildings nearby. After a local meal, you will be transferred to Zagreb, the Croatian capital city. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Zagreb. (B,L,D,O)

Day 6: Zagreb – Plitvice
After breakfast, we invite you to experience the past and present of Zagreb by passing through the streets of Lower and Upper Town, by visiting the famous arcades and sculptures of Mirogoj Park Cemetery, by entering inside the Zagreb cathedral or by taking in the everyday lively atmosphere of Dolac Market. Continue to Plitvice National Park, where you will relax while having lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, you will enter the National park, protected by UNESCO for its natural beauty. A magical world of 16 lakes and waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Plitvice. (B,L,D,O)

Day 7: Plitvice – Trogir – Split
Breakfast. After we reach the coastal area, we will have lunch at a local restaurant in Trogir. The heart of this beautiful city full of history is a small islet lying between the gentle hills on the mainland and the coast of the island of Ciovo. Afterwards we continue to Split, one of Dalmatia's liveliest towns and largest shopping centers. We tour the oldest part of Split, the 3rd century Diocletian Palace where we visit the cellars, the Peristyle, the Golden and Silver Gates, the Cathedral (Mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian), the Temple of Jupiter and other historic and interesting sights. The visit to the old part of the city is followed by time at leisure for shopping, strolling and general enjoyment. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (B,L,D,O)

Day 8: Split – Korčula Island
Breakfast. Today, we will take a ferry ride to the island of Korčula, known by its beauty and for being the birth place of the world’s most famous traveler, Marco Polo. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Korčula. (B,L,D,O) 

Day 9: Korčula Island
After breakfast, we will take you through the old city of Korčula. Legend has it that the town of Korčula was founded by the Trojan hero Anthenor. The beautifully preserved main town is undoubtedly the main highlight of this lush green Adriatic island, with its cluster of lovely beaches. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will take you to a boat ride. Leaving the town of Korčula behind, we sail towards the Korčula archipelago consisting of some twenty islands and islets. Badija with its 15th century monastery; Vrnik, famous for its two quarries and Majsan with prehistoric remains, are among the best know islands in the archipelago. Most of the islands are uninhabited, boasting lush vegetation and a crystal clear sea. The sail takes you to the town of a Lumbarda in a picturesque cove, where summer residences of former patrician families can be seen. Time at leisure here. Enjoy a local delicacy, a fresh lobster at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Korčula. (B,L,D,O) 

Day 10: Korčula Island – Ston - Dubrovnik
Breakfast. Morning ride by ferry and motor coach to the famous city of Dubrovnik. We will make a short stop at the town of Ston. Hundreds of visitors are attracted by the 5 kilometers long protective stonewalls. Other attractions include the old saltpan where salt is still being produced, and the famous oyster and mussel farm. After sightseeing, a small snack will be served in a Dalmatian cellar. We will continue to Dubrovnik. A pleasant walk through the old part of Dubrovnik will show you the city’s highlights, its exceptional beauty and rich cultural heritage. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Dubrovnik. (B,L,D,O)

Day 11: Dubrovnik
Breakfast. In the morning, we will start with the walking tour of the city which is on UNESCO’s List of Cultural Heritage. This ancient town, surrounded by ramparts and fortresses, is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural master places, scrupulously preserved over the centuries. A pleasant walk will take you to the Rector's Palace, The Franciscan Monastery with its 14th-century pharmacy, which is still operating to-day, uninterrupted through the centuries, as well as to the other places of interest. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon free at leisure. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Dubrovnik. (B,L,D,O)

Day 12: Dubrovnik – Montenegro - Dubrovnik
Breakfast. Hardly one hour from Dubrovnik, the neighboring country of Montenegro provides incomparable natural beauties and an abundance of historical sites. Our drive takes us to the mouth of the Bay of Kotor and along the curving roadway through the towns of Risan and Perast to Kotor. Here we will stop to capture forever on film one of the most beautiful parts of the bay, and learn some of the compelling history of this area. Our descent from the heights will take us to Cetinje, the one-time seat of Montenegro’s ruler, today a city museum. After sightseeing in Cetinje, we return to the coast with a short stop above Sveti Stefan and Budva. Our return drive to Dubrovnik will be pleasantly shortened by a ferry ride across the bay. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Dubrovnik. (B,L,D,O) 

Day 13: Departure
Breakfast. This morning you will be transferred to the Ljubljana airport to board your home bound flight. (B)
