Itinerary

Touring: Rome - Venice - Nova Gorica - Florence - Rome

Day 1: board your flight to Europe

Day 2: arrive Rome
You will be met and transferred to your hotel. After check-in the rest of the day is at your leisure. Perhaps relax over a cappuccino at a café on the Via Veneto or explore the elegant shops along the Via Condotti. This afternoon, enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director and meet your fellow travelers. (D,O)

Day 3: Rome
Breakfast. The highlight of the day is our visit to the Sistine Chapel where we admire the ceiling painted by Michelangelo. Then we are taken into St. Peter's Basilica to see the famous Pieta – among other great works. From here we cross the Tiber to ancient Rome stopping at the Forum to admire the mighty Colosseum. Then our local guide takes you to the Trevi Fountain where you have the chance to throw in a coin to ensure our safe return to the »Eternal City«. After city tour lunch in a local »trattoria«. Afternoon at your leisure. In the evening, dinner in a typical Roman restaurant with wine and music, followed by an illuminated tour of Rome by night. (B,L,D,O)

Day 4: Rome – Venice
Breakfast. We drive through the Umbria Region, into the Apennine Mountains. Past hilltop villages, we reach the gastronomic heart of Italy – the Emilia Romagna. Then past Bologna and along the Veneto Plain to magical Venice. Stop in Bologna for short sightseeing featuring main city attractions and lunch at a local restaurant. Upon arrival to Venice dinner at the hotel and overnight. (B,L,D,O)

Day 5: Venice - Nova Gorica 
Slovenia. Breakfast. Our morning walking tour is highlighted by visits to the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Square and the Piombi Prison. After a visit to a traditional glass-blowing factory, we enjoy seafood lunch in a local restaurant. After the lunch break we depart for Nova Gorica, Slovenia. Dinner at the hotel. Gaming and entertainment evening at the Perla Casino, spectacular Arena hall and Discotheque. Overnight. (B,L,D,O)

Day 6: Nova Gorica
Breakfast. Half-day trip to Goriska Brda; visit to winegrowing area including wine tasting of local top wines. Lunch in one of the typical local restaurants. Dinner at the hotel. Gaming and entertainment evening at the Perla Casino, spectacular Arena hall and Discotheque. Overnight. (B,L,D,O)

Day 7: Nova Gorica – Florence
After breakfast we depart across the Veneto Plains towards Renaissance Florence. Afternoon sightseeing tour on foot with stops at the Duomo, Baptistry, Piazza Signoria and Santa Croce Basilica. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then there's time to shop for quality leather and gold jewelry in the area around Santa Croce, or browse in the elegant boutiques. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 8: Florence – Rome
Breakfast. Today we enjoy a pleasant journey back to the Italian capital, with an early afternoon arrival in Rome. Lunch at a local restaurant en route. Upon arrival perhaps take an excursion to the ancient Sabine town of Tivoli or visit the beautiful fountains and gardens of the Villa d'Este. Farewell dinner and overnight. (B,L,D,O)

Day 9: departing Rome
Breakfast. Farewell to Italy and 'buon viaggio’ on transfer to Rome airport. (B)
