Our comprehensive tour features grand, cultural, diverse Edinburgh, the dramatic scenery of the east and west coasts, rolling highlands and peaceful islands, wonderful historic castles and abbeys, finishing in glorious Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest city. It will be the start of your love affair with Scotland.

Itinerary

Touring: Edinburgh - Aberdeen - Inverness - Loch Ness - Oban - Isle of Mull - Isle of Iona - Glasgow

Day 1: Edinburgh
Transfer from the airport, check in and overnight. A free evening in wonderful Edinburgh, perhaps in an atmospheric traditional pub and/or having your first taste of Scottish culture. (D,O) 

Day 2: Edinburgh
After breakfast, sightseeing of the city rightfully known as the ‘Athens of the North’, including the stunning views from Calton Hill, majestic Holyrood Palace and the graceful elegant Royal Mile up to the formidable Edinburgh Castle.  (B,D,O)

Day 3: Edinburgh – Aberdeen
After breakfast, departure to beautiful Scone Palace where Scottish Kings were crowned, then northward along the picturesque east coast including the spectacular ruins of Dunnottar Castle and evening arrival in Aberdeen. (B,D,O) 

Day 4: Aberdeen – Inverness
After breakfast, we travel to the Grampian Mountains and royal Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s favourite home*, and then to pretty Pitlochry with Scotland’s smallest distillery and then overnight in Inverness, capital of the Highlands. (B,D,O)
*If the Queen is at Balmoral, we will visit the ancient Drum Castle instead  

Day 5: Inverness – Loch Ness – Oban
We start by visiting a fascinating woollen products factory, and then view the site of the historic Battle of Culloden, travel to lovely Loch Ness to look for the legendary monster and overnight in pretty Oban on the glorious west coast.  (B,D,O)

Day 6: Oban – Isle of Mull – Isle of Iona – Oban
A ferry ride to the beautiful island of Mull, then by bus to lovely Fionnphort on the glorious Atlantic coast. A ferry ride to tranquil Iona, the cradle of Scottish Christianity with an abbey, before returning by ferry to Mull and Oban. (B,D,O) 

Day 7: Oban – Inveraray – Loch Lomond – Glasgow
A trip inland to Inveraray Castle overlooking peaceful Loch Fyne, then onward past the famous Loch Lomond to Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest city, where a panoramic tour awaits, with a chance to see St Mungo’s cathedral and stately George Square. (B,D,O) 

Day 8: Glasgow
Check out and airport transfer. (B)
