Overview
Albania’s rich cultural history is preserved in
numerous sites and monuments all over the country
allowing the visitor to see the past coming to life,
from Roman times to the modern era. Far from mass
tourism and the usual holiday routine, the natural
attractions and authenticity of the country and its
warm friendliness stay in the foreground. Among the
highlights of this 7-day tour are UNESCO world
heritage sites such as the amazing Roman city of
Butrint and the pretty resort of Ohrid with its
beautiful lake. With its rich mix of fascinating
bazaars to stroll around, ancient castles, green
hilly countryside and the gorgeous Adriatic coast,
Albania is one of Europe’s best-kept secrets.
Itinerary
Touring: Tirana - Durres – Kruja - Ohrid -

Day
1: Tirana - Durres
After your transfer from Tirana airport, you will
meet your Tour Director. We then proceed to ancient
Durres, on the Adriatic Sea. A range of ancient
monuments and ruins from the Roman era make the city
well worth a visit. (D, O)
Day
2: Durres – Kruja - Tirana
After breakfast, visit in Durres of the 2000-year-old
Roman amphitheatre (possible visit of the
archaeological museum). Departure for Kruje and its
beautiful panoramic view. Visit of the spec
Skanderbeg Castle (interesting museum and a
fascinating colourful bazaar in town). Onward to
Tirana for an evening sightseeing and overnight at

Day
3: Tirana - Ohrid - Pogradec
Picturesque UNESCO-listed city of Ohrid with its
vast lake features Macedonia’s most eminent medieval
monument: magnificent Byzantine fresco paintings, St
Clement’s Church with its lovely icon of the
Annunciation and the lakeside 10th century St Naum
Monastery. End of the afternoon at leisure to
explore Pogradec. (B, D, O)
Day
4: Pogradec - Korca
Departure for Korca situated in the southern part of
Albania at the side of Morava Mountain, 896 m above
sea level. It’s known for its fine handicrafts and
museum of Medieval Art housed and it's beautifully
decorated church at Voskopoja. (B,

Day 5: Korca – Gjirokastër – Saranda
Departure for the Gjirokaster and its elaborate
cobbled alleys and an old bazaar with the feel of an
Arabian Nights’ tale. It’s called ‘Town of the
Stones’ for its many distinctive stone-covered
rooves. The formidable castle towering high above
the town features the National Weapons Museum.

Day 6: Saranda – Butrint – Saranda
After breakfast, the stunning ancient city of
Butrint awaits. This fascinating UNESCO world
cultural heritage list site is truly an open-air
museum, and perhaps Albania’s most precious cultural
attraction. Return to Saranda for a free afternoon,
and dinner at the atmospheric Lekursi Castle. (B, D, O)

Saranda – Border Kakavija
