Overview
The awe-inspiring wonders of classical Greece come
to life on this wonderful exploration. It is a real
paradise of lovely architecture left by ancient
civilisations, and this fascinating 8-day visit is a
wonderful blend of all of its best elements and
destinations. We explore the finest remains of
millennia-old cities such as Athens and various
UNESCO World Heritage sites including Mycenae,
Epidaurus amphitheatre, Olympia and Delphi. The
experience also naturally features warm evenings
strolling atmospheric streets, relaxing in
traditional tavernas and watching the sun set
idyllically over the sea. It’s a perfect chance to
get to know the cradle of European civilisation.

Athens
Day 1: Athens
Meeting at the airport
and transfer to the hotel. (D, O)
Day 2: Athens
Our Athens city tour features the city’s most famous
sights - Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian
Zeus, the Acropolis, the Propylaea, the Temple of
Athena Nike, the Erechtheum and the unparalleled
Parthenon. In the evening we enjoy the ‘Athens by
Night’ tour, and a typical taverna. (B, D, O)
Day 3: Athens - Nafplion
Drive to the Peloponnese
peninsula, to fascinating ancient Mycenae to see the
Lion Gate, the ruins of the Cyclopean Walls and the
Royal Tombs. On to see the unique Epidaurus
amphitheatre, with the world’s best acoustics, where
famous ancient Greek tragedies were performed.
Overnight near the coastal town of Nafplion (B, D,
O)
Day 4: Nafplion - Olympia
After breakfast, we
enjoy a scenic drive through central Peloponnese,
past the towns of Tripoli and Megalochori to world
famous Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games.
Visit the impressive ruins of the Temple of Zeus and
the museum. Overnight in the area. (B, D, O)
Day 5: Olympia – Rion - Delphi
After breakfast, our tour
takes us through the city of Patras towards a ferry
to the mainland. We go on past picturesque Nafpaktos
and after lunch visit the monastery of Prophet Elias
then go on to stunning unforgettable Delphi on the
slopes of Mt. Parnassus. (B, L, D, O)
Day 6:
Delphi
After breakfast, we visit Delphi’s exquisite
Museum and the fabulous Sanctuary of Apollo. Drive
to nearby Arachova, a pretty hilltop town famous for
its colourful rugs and carpets. Evening return to
Athens. (B, D, O)
Day 7: Athens
Enjoy a day at
leisure to explore Athens’ history, or perhaps take
a charming afternoon trip along the winding coastal
road with its numerous beaches to Cape Sounion,
dominated by the impressive marble pillars of the
Temple of god Poseidon, where breathtaking views of
the Saronic Gulf await.
Optional: One Day Cruise to
Hydra, Poros & Aegina. Morning transfer to the
Trokadero marina, sailing to Hydra featuring unique
architecture and cobblestone streets and alleys, and
free time to explore. Sail over to Poros, a vivid
place with lots of little shops, an interesting
market and many tavernas and cafes along the
waterfront. Finally, we go on to the island of
Aegina, where you have time for a swim, or for a
horse-drawn carriage ride, or to take an optional
excursion to the Temple of Afea Athena. Early
evening return to ‘Trokadero’ and transfer to the

Day 8: Athens
Breakfast and
leisure until transfer to the airport for your home
bound flight. (B)
