Description
We set of in the
early hours and travel down the Neretva valley, then
along the Adriatic coast, travelling through
Markarska Riviera to Split, a town with a
magnificent history. The bus ride takes 3 hours.
Once in Split, the local City guide will show you
the places of interest in Split. Many sites will be
seen. One of particular note is the Diocletian
Palace from the 2nd century located in the heart of
the town. This old imperial residence and military
barracks is now a labyrinth of narrow streets with
its original architecture of houses and churches.
You will see the Outside Courtyard of the Peristil
Palace, then the Cathedral of St Duje, and then the
Old Diocletian Museum which houses reliquaries of St
Duje, the Protective Saint of Split. There will be
free time and then return to Mostar.
