Itinerary
Saturday: Boarding between 11:30
and 13:00 in Trogir port, shortly after which we
lift our anchor and sail in direction of Supetar on
the island of Brač, third largest of all Adriatic
islands (after Krk and Cres in Kvarner bay). Brač is
also famous for white limestone which can be found
on the island – buildings all over the world, as for
example the White House are made of it. After
reaching Supetar we take our bicycles and ride over
Spliska and Postire to Pučišća and back to Supetar
to dinner which will be waiting for us. Overnight
stay in Supetar port (cca. 45,8 km bicycle ride )
Sunday: Today we cross over the North of the island
to its South – our goal is Bol beach with one of the
most beautiful beaches of Mediterranean, Golden Rat.
Our route then takes us through Mirce, Sutivan,
Ložišće, Nerežišće and Gornji Hmac to Bol – you can
lunch in a typical Dalmatian tavern near along our
route and have a glass of wine. Those who aim at
reaching an even higher ascent than 500 m we are
going to reach, can as high altitude lover join us
to Vidova Gora which is the highest point of all
Adriatic islands lying on 778 m. You will be
rewarded with a beautiful view over islands of Polta,
Hvar and Korčula all the way to Pelješac peninsula
and Zlatni rat beach lying beneath your feet. Upon
arrival to Bol we load our bicycles on deck and sail
off to Jelsa on the island of Hvar. Dinner on boat
and overnight stay in a picturesque Jelsa port (cca.
47,0 or 67,0 km ).
Monday: Today's bicycle ride is a bit shorter – we
ride through infinite lavender fields and wine yards
to Stari Grad, the oldest town on the island. Hvar
is an island with the largest number of sunny hours
and the mildest climate of all Adriatic islands.
From Stari Grad we move further through Selce to
island's capital Hvar where we meet again in the
afternoon on our motor sailboat. We stop in a tavern
in one of island's villages for lunch, dinner on
boat. Overnight stay in Hvar port. (cca. 39,0 km )
Tuesday: After breakfast we head to sea again and
take course towards the "forbidden" island – Vis.
Large military base was situated on the island
during socialist government due to which foreigners
were forbidden to visit it. Military retreated
during democratization which is why there is
grapevine growing where once it used to be military
airport runway. Vis gives the impression of a
subtropical paradise with totally untouched nature.
After we sail into Vis port, we head for the second
biggest town on the island – Komiža. You can lunch
in Komiže after which we ride back to Vis. Dinner on
boat, overnight stay in Vis. (cca. 35,5 km)
Wednesday: Early in the morning we lift our anchor
and after 3 hour sail we come to Vela Luka bay on
the island of Korčula. Island – whose antique name
is Korkyra – is also known as "black island" due to
is widespread pine forests. Our route takes us
through Blato, Smokvice, Čare, Pupnate and Žrnovo to
Korčula on the Southeast of the island. Hardest
climbs on the island's main road will be circumvent
by small local roads. On the way there we have a
possibility to stop in several restaurants or
taverns. Dinner served on boat beneath unforgettable
scenography of old town of Korčula. Overnight stay
in Korčula. (cca. 50,5 km )
Thursday: We leave Korčula and enjoy the view over
its old town in the morning sun while we head off
for Northwest towards our next goal – we pass
Pelješac peninsula, islands Hvar and Brač, and sail
towards land. We stop in port of Omiš, small town on
Cetina river delta. We ride our bicycles toward
outback, river canyon. First we ride alongside
crystal clear Cetina river, and then uphill to
Podašpilje village. Village got its name by numerous
caves in mountains above the village ("under cave").
There is a fantastic view from here on wooded canyon
and river Cetina. We make lunch break in village
Svinišće in a tavern before we move on: we either
take the short version of the route directly to
Radmanove Mlinice or the longer version (almost 13
km) to water rapids of Cetina. Radmanove Mlinice are
old mills in which once grains were milled into
flour. Those who decide on the shorter version have
the possibility to swim in the river. We all return
together to our boat in Omiš. ( cca. 27,9 or 40, 5
km )
Friday: Two hour drive by motor sailboat from Omiš
to Stomorska on the island Šolta. Šolta is
considered to be one of the smallest Dalmatian
islands and is known for its first class olive oil.
We ride our bicycles through former old villages:
Gornje selo, Srednje selo and Donje selo – these are
names of three villages on this island. During our
drive we have possibility to try other specialities
of the island as well (there is more to try here
than only olive oil): prosciutto and goat cheese. In
Maslinica – place called after olive (maslina) – we
board on deck for the last time and return to Trogir.
After dinner on boat, you can enjoy in unique
atmosphere of old town with its narrow streets and
yards or, with a little luck, you will run into
vocal groups (klape) rehearsing their songs in the
open. Overnight stay in Trogir port (ca. 26,6 km)
Saturday: Departure after breakfast around 9 am.
