History and Status
Kompas is one of the most prominent
international travel corporations in the world,
maintaining excellent tradition of a former Kompas Coach
and Tourist Company, founded in 1951. In 1991 the
company was transformed into a shareholding company, of
which the majority owner has been, since July 2006, Adriatica.net
Group. The rest are small shareholders.
Organization and Network
Kompas International Travel Group
consists of 19 companies, 6 representative offices, 1
GSA and 1 franchise office, located in the heart of the
most interesting markets and destinations in the world.
Kompas International Travel Network consists of more
than 50 offices worldwide.
A part of our international travel network is MOA, the
Mediterranean Operators Association, specialized in
destination management services in the leading
Mediterranean destinations.
Kompas is a member of Adriatica.net group.
Kompas Staff
The capital and the real value of our company are 480
highly qualified, experienced and dedicated
professionals. In the high season this figure rises to
well over 800 employees.
Activities
We are specialists in inbound and
outbound travel in Central & Eastern Europe and also
other European countries. Our main inbound markets are
Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary,
Italy, Poland, Germany and France. Our main outbound
markets are Germany, Slovenia, Great Britain, Benelux,
Italy, USA, Scandinavia and France.
Our main activities comprise wholesaling and
servicing of package holidays and package tours as well
as the organization of congresses, meetings, incentives
and special events. We are also one of the leading
European distributors of travel related components
through e-distribution channels.
Mission Statement
Kompas is an international tour operator and
travel agent that generates and integrates
travel services on international travel markets.
Our business activities utilise the latest IT
and e-business solutions and they are based on
knowledge, know-how and the search for niche
markets. Our aim is to become one of the leading
incoming agents and suppliers of the capacities
in Europe. In order to achieve this goal, we
constantly invest into our employees, European
network and new technologies. In Slovenia the
company aims to maintain its dominant market
share as a tour operator and travel agency
(30–40 %) and in Croatia as the leading DMC.
Turnover and Customers
In 2008 the total turnover of all
Kompas companies was over 229 mio €. About 21% of our
turnover comes from the touroperating, 17% from retail,
11% from wholesaling of land packages and 51% from
handling incoming arrangements. The number of our
customers is permanently growing. In 2008 we were proud
to handle over 1,4 mio passengers, 734.479 in outgoing
and 686.354 in incoming activities.
