Description
On this trip we take you on the other side of the
Karawanke mountain range to the most southern
province of Carinthia. A ride through the
picturesque Gorenjska villages and towns takes us to
the border crossing of Ljubelj and afterwards we
descend to Carinthian capital Klagenfurt. situated
close to the Woerther lake (Vrbsko jezero).
According to a legend, the area was haunted by a
special kind of dragon, so called 'lindwurm'. Brave
man killed it and Klagenfurt was founded. After a
short walk through the old town you will have a
short free time.
Afer a drive along the shores of the Woerther lake
and through the resorts, being called as Austrian
Riviera, we make a stop in Velden. You will have
enough time to enjoy this resort by yourself. Before
returning to Slovenia over the Mountain pass of
Korensko sedlo you will pass some more beautiful
lakes and have time to relax in Kranjska Gora as
well.
